The Chicago Sky, an American women’s basketball team, is based in Chicago. The team is a member of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) and competes in the Eastern Conference. The franchise was created before the 2006 season. It was initially known as The Chicago Mercury. The team is now known as the Chicago Sky.

Drafts of the WNBA

Despite the fact that the Chicago Sky were silent during the most recent WNBA drafts (which were held on March 7th), local players were selected in the first round. The Dallas Wings selected Veronica Burton as the seventh overall draft pick. She averaged 17.8 points, 5.5 rebounds, 6.4 assists and four steals per game last season, and she even reached double figures in the Big Ten tournament. Phoenix Mercury drafted Maya Dodson as Notre Dame forward in the same draft.

Trades

The Sky has made some moves to enhance their roster this offseason. They traded away several players in exchange for new draft picks. Alaina coates was traded to Minnesota for Kaitlin Louis Samuelson, while Astou Nyour and Kaitlin Lou Samuelson were acquired from Dallas. In addition, they traded away their 16th pick in the 2021 Draft and a second-round pick in 2022.

The Chicago Sky is a professional basketball team in the Midwest United States. The team has recently unveiled its new gold uniforms, and has retained its uniform sponsor, Magellan. The team's home games are broadcast on WCIU-TV and WMEU-CD, while select games are televised nationally on NBA TV and ESPN.

The Chicago Sky have released their broadcast schedule for the 2021 season. The team will broadcast five regular season matches on CW26. Lisa Byington provides play-byplay commentary and Meghan McKeown provides color analysis. Five games will also air on My Michiana, South Bend, Indiana.

Fan base

The Chicago Sky enjoy a strong fan base that celebrates their accomplishments and works to improve the city. Thousands of Sky supporters turned out to celebrate the team's 2015 WNBA championship. The parade shut down downtown and took over Chicago Park. This was a beautiful way to strengthen community spirit.
