Women are often overlooked in the world of running, but a few of them have made their mark on the sport. Rita Jeptoo, for instance, won the Boston Marathon and Chicago back-to-back in 2013, 2014, respectively. Later, she was banned from competing for four consecutive years because of her use of EPO. Chebet was later succeeded by Agnes Jebet Tirop (a teenager) in the 2015 IAAF World Cross.

Keira D'Amato, a famous female runner, has an unusual story. Keira D'Amato, an elite athlete, has a hectic life. She also works in Real Estate as well as running. Last year, she set a new American marathon record, knocking 24 seconds off Deena Kastor's record, which stood since 2006. Keira, who is only 37 years old, is already an established athlete. However, she began her career as a hobby jogger. Keira Da'Amato, who graduated from American University in 2005, went into Real Estate after having two children.

Paula Jane Radcliffe

Famous female runner Paula Jane Radcliff has achieved international success in the long-distance running events. She is the champion of both the New York Marathon in London and the Chicago Marathon in New York. She has won many other events.

Helene de Pourtales

Helene de Pourtales was born in New York. She was the only child of a wealthy tobacco family. Isaac Barbey, her dad, started the tobacco empire. And Helene's mother, a Lolliarde from France, was his wife. Helene was a natural athlete, and soon married Hermann Alexandre, Count de Pourtales, a member of the old Huguenot family. They had three children. Helene inherited her love for horses from her mother's side of the family.


Allison Stokke

Allison Stokke is a famous female runner, pole vaulter and athlete. She was born Newport Beach, California. After her high school education, she went on to university at the University of California. Stokke achieved many records at both schools and was an athlete in pole vaulting. Stokke is also an advocate for healthy foods, and encourages others in her footsteps.

Tia-Clair Toomey

Tia Claire Toomey, the famous female runner has been one of America's most successful athletes over the past year. She is the face in female fitness. Her results speak louder than her words every time she competes. She won the 2022 NOBULL CrossFit Games. Toomey came back strong after a rough start to this competition. She led the competition to the finish.

Allison Baver

Allison Baver, a former U.S. Olympian in competitive running, announced her retirement on Monday. She was an Olympian once before, in 2002, when she was an alternate for the U.S. 3000m relay women's team in Salt Lake City. Allison was also a participant in the 2006 Torino Winter Games. In Vancouver, she placed third in the 3000m relay. Allison was involved in a fatal accident in 2009, when she suffered broken ankles and legs in a crash with her teammate. This injury happened just one year before Allison was due to compete in the 2010 Vancouver Olympics.
