
Dana White's Contender Series tournament is for younger fighters in the region. This season's main event will be the Lightweight title fight, with the Middleweights and Welterweights co-main events. Dana White's sixth Season of the Contender Series
The sixth season Dana White's Contender Series, has been revealed. Its premiere date is Tuesday, July 26, at 8 PM ET. The program will air on ESPN+ live and air one episode per semaine. This program helps to identify promising fighters and allows them to be offered UFC contracts. Ten episodes will be featured in the sixth season.

The main event will be dominated by lightweights
The lightweight division is in a resurgence with two promising prospects battling for title shot. Rafael Alves and Ty Flores were both UFC fighters. Both are currently on a four-fight winning streak. Rafael Alves is a former Titan FC interim lightweight champion who trains at the MMA Masters in South Florida. He has also observed his fellow fighter Miguel Baeza's rise to stardom.
Middleweights are the co-main event
Two of the top fighters in the UFC 276 division will be featured in the co-main event. In the co-main, No. 6 ranked Jack Hermansson will face No. 7 ranked Sean Strickland. Both fighters hope to face reigning division champion Israel Adesanya. Hermansson has nine wins since 2016, winning six of his last eight fights. Strickland has a winning streak of five fights and hopes to extend that streak.
The co-main events are the Welterweights
The co-main feature of the contender series features a fight featuring two former heavyweight champions. Both are undefeated. Bruno Assis from Brazil will face Diaz, who defeated a highly-rated opponent back in March. Two exciting bantamweight bouts will be featured on the card. Mayra Bueno Silvi will take on Wu Yanan while Carlos Aldo will be facing a top-rated middleweight prospect.

Lightweights are the co-main event
For the second time in two years, the lightweight division is back. A top prospect in UFC faces a lightweight. Brendan Battles (28-1 KOs, 2 KOs), takes on Fred Grey, an unknown opponent, in the comain event of the contender Series. The lightweight division's champion fight will be contested next year by the winner.
