The Washington Mystics play the Seattle Storm in the WNBA Championship 2018, finals. The Storm is back in Finals after an eight-year absence. The team lost Lauren Jackson but has restocked their lineup with Jewell and Breanna Loyd.
In the regular season, The Seattle Storm was the league leader in 3-point accuracy. With 29.8%, second place went to the Mystics. This level of accuracy continued into the playoffs.

Breanna Stewart wins WNBA Finals MVP award
Seattle Storm guard Breanna Stewart has won the WNBA Finals MVP award. She averaged 28.3 points per game and 7.6 rebounds per match to lead her team to the title. She won the award for her play, which helped the Storm win the league title in 2020. She was proud to receive her MVP award and arrived at the postgame media access with champagne in hand. She also wore celebratory goggles and threw green confetti at Sue Bird (Seattle Storm general manager).
Stewart, a twice-time WNBA MVP steered the Storm to their second championship title in less then two years. She was outstanding in Game 1, scoring 37 points with 15 rebounds. That made her the first player to average 35 points in the Finals. She scored an average of 28.3 and shot 65 per cent from the field for the series. Stewart is also a Hall of Fame Candidate.
Phoenix Sun's Diana Taurasi wins first WNBA title
Diana Taurasi was a former NBA player. She is now the leading scorer at the WNBA. She has been awarded the MVP award and three WNBA titles. She has also been awarded four Olympic golds medals and five WNBA scoring awards. She has also won three NCAA championships at the University of Connecticut. She has also won six Euroleague Championships.
Diana Taurasi, who won her first WNBA title, is now the most decorated player of WNBA history. This victory was also the beginning of a long and distinguished career for the 22 year-old. Taurasi is first Western Conference player to win a championship. She will join the league's Hall of Fame in 2020.

Seattle Storm's Sue Bird leads Seattle to victory
The Seattle Storm are on the verge of their first WNBA title. Sue Bird is leading them. The Storm finished their regular season with a record 26-8 and topped Western Conference standings. Bird was the team's captain and was a top pick for 2001. Bird was an offensive force and quick player that allowed the Storm win on the perimeter against the Washington Mystics. The Storm shot 13 of 26 from three-point range, outscoring the Mystics 21 points. In Game 3, the Mystics only shot 8 of 23 from behind-the-arc and closed the series with an impressive 11 for 60.
Bird was the Storm's main star during the playoffs. In Game 5 against the Phoenix Mercury, she came up big in the fourth quarter. Although she was wearing a mask due to a broken nose, Bird had just scored 10 points and drained clutch jumpers to send the Mercury home.
