LPGA-USGA Girls Golf Program is a junior golf program for girls aged seven to 17. It is an independent 501(c),(3) nonprofit organization whose purpose is to help girls develop confidence and perseverance. LPGA Tour, which is a series of weekly tournaments for professional female golfers, is also run by the LPGA.

LPGA/USGA Girls Golf provides young girls with the opportunity to learn golf and increase their self-esteem through participation in tournaments. As the only national developmental golf program geared specifically towards young girls, the program aims to inspire and promote positive self-esteem, life skills, and the enjoyment of the sport.

LPGA-USGA Girls Golf is designed to give girls the chance to compete in golfing tournaments and make connections with other girls her age. The program also provides juniors with free practice balls, regardless their financial status. Schools and youth groups can also receive free coupons that grant them access to Rocky Mountain PGA golf courses.

Program encourages perseverance and confidence

LPGA Foundation & USGA Girls Golf Program was created in 1989. The program aims at teaching young girls life skills and playing golf. The program emphasizes interpersonal skills, goal-setting and conflict resolution.


Girls between the ages six and seventeen can participate in this program. LPGA Professional Wendy Kern teaches golf, while participants also receive nutrition and fitness sessions. The program meets every other Saturday from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. It's free to girls and they will provide snacks as well as golf clubs. You can bring your own clubs to the sessions, however.

For youth in need of financial assistance, the First Tee of Three Rivers Park District's Junior Golf Assistance Program can help. The program provides scholarships to aspiring female golfers and organizes free events for girls. If you are interested or your child is, please consider applying.

Girls Golf, a non-profit 501 (C)(3) junior golf program that is run by the USGA and LPGA Foundation, is a national initiative. The program emphasizes developing confidence in young girls and improving their golf skills. Participants are put in groups of four to six youngsters and play for 60 to 75 minutes in various team-based formats. Each team has a volunteer parent leader who acts as the team's coach. These parents are trained by the YMCA prior to the season.
