Chicago will host the WNBA All-Star Game July 9-10. The Saturday night event has special events added by the WNBA. This includes a skills competition, and a three person contest. Ogunbowale hopes he can be part of next year's All-Star games. Team USA had won this game in the past.
Kelsey Plum
Kelsey Plum of the Aces scored 30 points against Team Stewart during her debut WNBA All Star Game. Despite being small in stature, Plum was named the WNBA All Star Game MVP. Her MVP trophy, however was dwarfed only by the All-Star MVP trophy from the NBA's Kobe Bryant. WNBA commissioner Cathy Engelbert brought some humor to the event, and she presented Plum with a new trophy after the game.
Plum claimed she was trying to win the MVP award. Plum set an All-Star mark by making 12 field goals during the game and taking 18 shots. She currently averages 19.9 point per game. She will be representing the United States in 3x3 basketball at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

Arike Ogunbowale wins MVP
Arike Ogunbowale became the MVP at the WNBA all stars game. The guard from Dallas played college basketball at Notre Dame. She was the fifth overall pick at the WNBA draft. Vanessa Bryant was her mother and a huge fan of the player. Her family voted her in, so this is an extra special award.
While the 2021 WNBA all-star game saw many changes, the game remains an all star event. Ogunbowale was the only WNBA player who won MVP honors. She beat Team USA by 93 to 85. Ogunbowale was also named as a reserve for 2022 WNBA All Star Game. The game will be televised live on ABC from Chicago.
