
There are many outstanding examples of couple athletes making headlines. You've heard of Amanda Nunes and Nina Ansaroff, Julie Ertz and Zach Ertz, Bird and Rapinoe, and Granato and Ferraro, to name a few. Perhaps you've heard of retired athletes who have fallen in love with each other.
Amanda Nunes & Nina Ansaroff
Their relationship has been openly shared for over a decade. They met while together training at a Florida workout facility in 2012. They were engaged when they met while training together at a Florida gym in 2012. They are well-known in the UFC and have been supportive of each other for years. Nunes credits Ansaroff with her success and says she couldn’t have done it alone.
Nina Ansaroff fights in the UFC strawweight division. Born in Weston Florida, Ansaroff began training in mixed martial arts in 2009. She has an impressive record of 16 wins, six losses. She is known for her comebacks, and she is ranked 13th in the women's pound-for-pound rankings.
Julie Ertz and Zach Ertz
Zach Ertz is married to Julie and they are both professional athletes. Zach is an end for the Philadelphia Eagles. Julie plays for the Chicago Red Stars. Both are currently vying to be on the U.S. Women's National Team. They met at Bay Area universities.
Zach Ertz was married to Julie Ertz in 2017. Their daughter was delivered a week later. The couple met while playing Stanford's baseball. They were married last march. Their marriage has been in the news since then, and fans are celebrating their new arrival!
Bird and Rapinoe
Sue Bird is a couple athlete, as is Megan Rapinoe. They both reside in Seattle. Both are based in Seattle and often speak about different topics, including women's sport in America. Rapinoe also posted images of Bird on Instagram Story. She also linked to a clip of cheering for Bird. Rapinoe has also uploaded an image of Bird's Seattle Storm Profile, which lists all her WNBA accomplishments.
Bird and Rapinoe were reunited during the Olympic build-up to Rio Olympics 2016. Olympic athletes are often asked to pose in patriotic hot shots. Rapinoe met Bird while preparing for a photo shoot. Rapinoe asked Bird to keep a secret. Bird was stumped. Rapinoe claimed that Sue was not an easy reader, which was what inspired Bird.
Granato e Ferraro
Ray Ferraro and Cammi Granato are two of the most successful sports stars in history. Ferraro, who was a former NHL star played 18 seasons in the NHL, and was a twice-time Stanley Cup winner. Granato is a retired professional ice hockey player. She won the 1998 Olympic women’s ice hockey gold Medal. Granato and Ferraro have two daughters and are married.
Granato was the U.S. women’s hockey team captain in 1998. She was inducted into Hockey Hall of Fame in 2010. Ferraro played in the National Hockey League for 18 seasons and twice scored 40 goals. Ferraro finished his career with 408 goals and 490 assists, as well as 898 points.
Agassi and Graf
Steffi Graf and Andre Agassi have been tennis's elite couple for many years. After both winning the 1999 Roland Garros tournament, the couple fell in love. They began to date and then got married in 2001. Jaden and Jaz are their two children. Graf's mom moved to Las Vegas in 2013 with Peter, after Peter's sudden death. Graf now goes by the name Stefanie Graf.
Graf was a lover before they got married. He dated Michael Bartels for two year before finally getting married to Agassi. Agassi had a girlfriend named Brooke Shields before his 1997 wedding. Their romance was so public that Brooke Shields photographed Agassi prior to the wedding. She remarked that "the legs of this man are perfect." They split in 1998 but reconnected in 2001. Graf was playing tennis at the time, and they practiced together. Graf and Agassi learned that they shared many similarities, even though they had their differences.
