The United States Soccer Federation serves as the official governing body. It is a FIFA Member and has participated in seven World Cups. It hosted two Women's World Cups. It also has four Olympic Gold Medals. Find out more about U.S. Soccer.

U.S. Soccer is a member of FIFA

FIFA is the FIFA member country for the United States national soccer team. The team was established for the first time in 1885. Its first international match was against Canada. This game was won by the United States 1-0. In 1934, the U.S. was finalists in the World Cup. It played in Newark the following year, but FIFA did not recognize it. The United States won the bronze and silver medals for men's soccer in the 1904 St. Louis Summer Olympics. It was organized by St. Rose Parish and Christian Brothers College. It was the first tournament outside of Europe.

The United States is a FIFA member. It belongs to CONCACAF as its regional federation. CONCACAF oversees international soccer in North America. The United States soccer Federation is a non-profit organisation whose headquarters are in Chicago, Illinois. It oversees both amateur and professional soccer in America, as well sanctioning tournaments.

It has played in seven consecutive FIFA World Cups

The U.S. men’s soccer team was almost non-existent in international soccer until 1982. Despite the existence of the North American Soccer League in the 1960s & 1970s, it did not become a major force within global soccer. But that didn't stop U.S. football. 1982 was the first World Cup appearance for the United States. They were 1-1-1 after losing to Egypt on tiebreaker.


The team has enjoyed a varied and long history in soccer. U.S. soccer's debut at the World Cup was in 1990. The team reached the quarterfinals twice. Today, the U.S. soccer team is a strong force in the sport. They have hosted three World Cups.

It has hosted two FIFA Women's World Cups.

The Women's World Cup was hosted by the United States in 1999. It was originally hosted in China in 1994. The bid was successful, and the U.S. Soccer organization successfully hosted the tournament. The U.S. women's team won U.S. Cup '95. This tournament saw the US beat Mexico 4-0, and tie Colombia. The women's team finished third, beating Canada by 3-0, and earned all-star recognition.

The US soccer team has hosted many other international soccer events including the Women's Olympic Games (Women's Olympic Games) and the Pan-American Games (Women's Olympic Games). The US women's team has made great strides since the 2014 games, and their success in the World Cup has boosted their international reputation. Tobin heath, Abby Wambach, Alex Morgan, April Heinrichs, Hope Solo, Megan Rapinoe, Megan Rapinoe and Megan Rapinoe have all been well-known in women's football.

It has won four Olympic Gold medals

The United States soccer has won four Gold Medals in Olympic soccer's history. The men's and women's teams have each won one gold medal and a silver. In 1996, the US soccer won its first gold-medal. They defeated China 2-1 in Atlanta. They defeated Norway 2-0 to win the second gold medal in Sydney. They went on to win three games consecutively.

The women's soccer team has a history of dominance, and the team's first semifinal match in Rio was a tough loss to Canada. While they have won more medals, they have yet to win any World Cups. Abby Wambach isn't yet ready to retire, but she used her Olympic experience to motivate the team and give them an opportunity for improvement.
