Sports media can be a difficult world for women. They are often ridiculed for their looks. This is not the case for everyone. Linda Cohn of ESPN has been a trailblazer. Cohn is one of the network's most versatile personalities since her 1992 hire.

Danica Patrick

Danica Patrick is an NASCAR racer who has won numerous awards. She won numerous championships and was named as the sport's most beloved driver multiple times. Danica is a fitness enthusiast as well as philanthropist. Danica is loved for her attractive personality and fit physique.

Patrick began her career driving karts, but quickly moved to racing. In 2005, she became the youngest winner of the Indianapolis 500. She is also currently the only female driver to win IndyCar Series. She continues to break the female sports record.

Lindsey Vonn

Lindsey Vonn is an internationally renowned skier and athlete. She is among the most decorated women in the history the sport. She has won numerous world titles, including three consecutive downhill world championships as well as the overall world cup title. She is also an example for women in sport.

Lindsey Vonn was brought up in Minnesota. She began skiing as a child. At seven years old, she began racing and then moved on to international competitions. She participated in World Junior Championships as well as World Cup events and was crowned World Cup champion in 2004. Vonn was awarded the overall World Cup title in 2008, and again in 2010.

Michelle Kwan

Michelle Kwan's interest in figure skating began at a young age. She first discovered figure skating when she was five. Danny and Estella Kwan are immigrants from Hong Kong or China. Estella's parents were born in Hong Kong. The Kwans first met at a school reunion. Her father worked at the telephone company, while her mother managed the Golden Pheasant Restaurant in Torrance. When Michelle was eight years old, she began serious training. She would work for three to four hours a day. However, her time commitment was so significant that her family had to struggle to pay.


Kwan hired Rafael Arutyunyan, a noted technician, as her coach in the fall 2003. The pair skated to "The Feeling Begins" in the short program and "Tosca” in the long program. Kwan tied Maribel Vison-Owen's record of nine titles in U.S. ladies' figure skating at the U.S. Championships. The following year, Kwan qualified for the Olympic Games in Turin, Italy, where she competed under a new judging system. Kwan was unable to compete at the World Championships because she fell on a triple salchow.

Cari Champion

Cari Champ, a prominent broadcast journalist is well-known in the world of sports. She is also the co-anchor of ESPN's noon show. Her extensive knowledge of sports comes from her experience working in broadcast journalism at several networks. She will be speaking on the 2019 program track, "Pushing the Limits in Human Performance".

Cari Champion was born and raised in Pasadena. She attended UCLA. She has one older sister, and two younger siblings. She has not yet been married and is not currently involved in a public affair.

Li Na

Li Na is a famous Chinese tennis player. Her humble background as the daughter a tennis player and an athlete saw her rise to prominence. Now, she is both one of world's top tennis players and one among the wealthiest women. Most of her Chinese counterparts had never witnessed her play before she rose to fame.

Her self-confidence and ability to inspire young Chinese has earned her praise. Her work goes beyond sports. Li Na is also an influential cultural entrepreneur who is influencing the Chinese society beyond sport.
