If you've ever watched a professional golfer compete, you may have noticed a few female players in very revealing clothing. Paige Spiranac was one of those players who wore a mini skirt while on the course, before the dress code was implemented. This practice was criticized by male golfers, who accused the LPGA of body-shaming female golfers. Today, however, the dress code has been lifted.

Lexi Thompson

Alexis Noel Thompson, an American professional golfer, plays on the LPGA Tour. At age 12, she qualified for the U.S. Women's Open. She became a professional when she was 15 years old. She has since qualified for several other major championships. She won her first LPGA championship in June 2016.

At the age of twelve, she was the youngest woman to ever play in the US Women's Open. She was just sixteen when she became the youngest LPGA winning player and won her first tournament. At twenty-years old, she was the youngest LPGA winner and is one of the most fit athletes in the world. She practices for three hours every day and plays 18 holes. Then she eats lunch and goes to work with a coach. In addition to the LPGA Tour, Thompson also donates her time to charities such as the Wounded Warrior Project.

Although Thompson was one of the hottest players in the world in 2015, she has had a rough year in 2021. She held a five-shot advantage at the US Women's Open 2021 but was unable to capitalize. She has since won the LGPA Japan Tour and the Ladies European Tour. She is currently ranked 9th in the Rolex Player Rankings. She tied for 17th at the Lotte Championship and the ANA inspiration event last spring. She also missed a chance to win her second major tournament at the Avnet LPGA Classic.

Michelle Maguire

Leona Maguire was the first Irishwoman to win the LPGA Tour Drive On Championship in Florida. The 27-year-old finished on -18, three strokes ahead of Lexi Thompson. Maguire started out the season with five birdies and went into the final round tied with Marina Alex. But she birdied the 10th, 11th, and 13th holes to claim the title.

The 2020 season was mostly positive, though there were some lows in the early stages. She missed the LPGA Match-Play 16 in May, but she bounced back and was at her best throughout the summer. Maguire credits her success to many positive and negative experiences that she had. Positive experiences increase confidence. Negative ones can be used as reality checks.

Maguire was also a member of the 2017-18 WGCA All-American Scholars. This is an honorable distinction given to student athlete who has demonstrated academic excellence and athletic excellence. Maguire's honor roll includes serving as a captain and team MVP. In addition, she broke Lydia Ko's record of most weeks at the top of the World Amateur rankings. She was also named honorary recipient of the ACC Weaver-James-Corrigan Postgraduate Scholarship, which recognizes exceptional student-athletes and their intention to earn a graduate degree.
